QFCC engaged Saltwater People to create strategic illustrations resulting from a series of interviews across the sector (with a focus on first-hand experience with families and sector stakeholders) for a strategic report on Queensland’s Youth Justice Reforms. The purpose of the report was to to help monitor initiatives linked to recent youth justice reforms and to examine options for future investments.

Saltwater People conduced a series of independant interviews of families in Queensland who are navigating the youth justice system and a separate set of interviews with YJ stakeholders. The engagement was inclusive of all populations and stakeholders across the sector.

The result of this work was a suite of illustrations reflecting the key concerns for young people and their families, and their experiences with support services. This work influenced the reports visual identity and accompanying data.
