Yarn Up Cards

“The statements on the Yarn Up cards are drawn from our cultural foundation. These are the reasons why Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have survived for more than 60,000 years in good times and in bad. These words filled with wisdom and strength have been reinforced through Elders, families and communities for generations and have kept us strong.”

Aunty Florence Onus – Tiddas Yarning Circle, Garbutt Community Centre Saltwater People were engaged by the Queensland Family and Child Commission to visualise a storytelling game, developed by the Garbutt Community Centre ‘Tiddas Yarning Circle’.

Saltwater People worked with resident artist Ty Waigana to visualise the themes of culture, identity and hope, and the stories shared from the Tidda’s Yarning Circle. You can read more about the project, and download the game here.
